There are many benefits to participating in Weight Loss Excersises You Can Do at Home. The three main benefits are that you can exercise any time at home, there are no membership fees to pay, and you don’t have to travel anywhere. For some people, in the time it would take to travel to the gym, they could get a full workout completed.

 

The biggest challenge to working out at home is motivation.  A way to overcome this challenge is to involve other people for accountability.  You can invite friends over to do a workout video together. Or you can get other family members involved.  If you want to work out alone, build it into your schedule. 

 

You can watch a television show while you work out.  Make a commitment that every time you put on that TV show, you will do your exercises.  Or, put on some of your favorite music to help motivate you to start moving.  Also, be sure to do a combination of exercises.  If you perform the same exercise everyday, it will become too boring and result in lack of motivation.  So remember, to switch it up.

 

Weight Loss Excersises You Can Do at Home  to Help You Lose Weight by Burning Fat

 

Burning fat requires a regular cardio aerobic workout.  Your goal should be to do 20 minutes of cardio at least 3 times a week.  A great way to achieve this at home is by using a step workout.  You can buy a step and a video on step aerobics to help you come up with a step routine.  Or, you can use the step of a flight of stairs.  You can play your favorite music and step to the beat, or you can watch a TV show.  This exercise can be adapted at all levels. 

 

The more advanced you become, the more you will be able to incorporate different parts of your body.  For example, you can incorporate arm movements while you step.

 

Another aerobic workout is jump-roping.  You can pick up an affordable jump-rope at any sporting goods store.  This is an exercise that you can get some fresh air with.  Bring your jump-rope outside and enjoy the fresh air as you jump up and down.  You can start off with just five or ten minutes of jump-roping and keep building your time.  When the weather isn’t conducive to being outside, you can use your garage or an open space in your home.  Play your favorite music and jump to the beat.

 

A great way to get an aerobic workout is to take out your dancing shoes and dance like no one is watching.  Put on your favorite music and just let loose.  Have fun and dance around.  Dance for 20-30 minutes to get a good cardio workout for yourself.

 

 

 

Home Exercises to Help You Tone Your Body

The best exercises to help tone your muscles are those which stress your muscles directly.  Here is a list of toning exercises you can do at home that don’t require any equipment:

  • Push-ups
  • Crunches
  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Leg Lifts

 

To help tone your arms, you can get a resistance band.  You just place both feet on the resistance band and stand with your feet shoulder width apart.  Then lift the handles of the resistance band up and down.  You can do the same exercise with dumbbells or with canned food.

 

A rule of thumb to go by is to do 6 to 8 reps, 6 times for each exercise.

 

Stretching

Remember to always stretch to warm up before a workout as well as after you complete a workout.  Not only does stretching help improve your flexibility, but it also helps prevent injury.  When choosing your stretches, you should focus on the muscles that you are working out.  Don’t be afraid to go beyond those muscles though.  Stretching has some great health benefits.

  • Increase energy levels
  • Reduce muscle tension
  • Enhance muscular coordination
  • Increase circulation of blood to various parts of the body
